Anyone who knows Miuccia Prada knows that she regularly finds inspiration that’s deeply rooted in the 40s, 50s, and 60s, and why not? Despite being in the midst of war, the forties accentuated femininity, the 50s glamour and the 60s were just wild fun times. It was in those periods that women’s fashion became part of history. It was also during those times that the female form was celebrated, and clothes were created to enhance a woman’s silhouette. Post WWII women oozed style and grace, which Miuccia Prada often tries to encapsulate in her fall and winter collections – the 2017 Fall Collection by Miu Miu was no exception!
I’ve always loved designing clothes and sketching my own dream outfits. But to actually transfer a sketch into a perfect garment takes many more steps. Sewing machines aren’t my best friends and almost every attempt ended horrific. Therefore my ideas remain mostly on paper.
